South Africa Foreign Affairs Department has presented a case to the charge d’affaires of the United States Consulate in South Africa and it’s disappointed over Donald Trump’s failure to convey his message using diplomatic channels.
Foreign Minister, Lindiwe Sisulu in a statement said, “The government of South Africa wishes to caution against alarmist, false, inaccurate and misinformed, as well as – in some cases – politically-motivated statements that do not reflect the policies and intentions of the South African Government.”
In a late night tweet two nights ago, United States President instructed the Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo to pay attention to the South African “land and farm seizures” and the “killing of farmers”. The South African government have termed this move by Trump as “stoking racial divisions in a sensitive and crucial matter.”
