Zimbabwe is ranked 44th among 47 countries in the Sub-Saharan Africa region as its economy is not stable and its government is infamous for mismanaging the country.
Recently, the country’s land reform program affected white farm owners but the government has ever found a way to compensate the former white farmers for this.
The government disbursed US$53 million to compensate the former white farmers who got caught up in the country’s land reform programme. The finance minister Professor Mthuli Ncube said the compensation was in line with the country’s laws and various bilateral agreements entered between government and former colonial masters, Britain. They are liaising with the various stakeholders on finance method.
Strategies should be put in place to ensure that those put in care of the money do not siphon the millions of dollars into their personal account..
