Davido becomes first African artiste to solely headline a sold-out show at the O2 Arena

Nigerian artiste, Davido is the first African artiste to solely headline a sold-out show at the most popular music venue on earth, The O2 Arena in London, United Kingdom according to online music site, SPOTIFY.

The event kicked off with DJs Tim Westwood and ECool who played nice and popular Nigerian songs. DMW Artistes, Dremo, Zlatan, Mayorkun, Peruzzi, Dremo and Yonda all added splendor to the night.

An hour later, international movie star, Idris Elba, mounted the podium to introduce Davido and he was welcomed with rapturous cheers. He kick-started the show with one of his hit track, “Aye.”

The 26-year-old sang through his repertoire of hit songs, “If”, “Fall”, “Dami Duro”, “Assurance”, “FIA” with the support of his colourful dancers and backup singers. The crowd sang along with him with utmost dexterity.

Davido becomes the first African artiste after Wizkid to sell out tickets at the 20,000 capacity O2 Arena in London and joins the list of artistes such as Drake, Rihanna, Kanye West, Elton John, Adele, Prince, Celine Dion, Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake who have sold out the venue as Headliners.
