Macky Sall wins Senegal presidential election

Incumbent President of Senegal, Macky Sall won his reelection bid with at least 57% of popular vote.

Senegal’s electoral commission, CENA reported that the incumbent President won 13 of out 14 regions.

About 6.5 million people took part in the exercise.

This is the President’s second and final term in office.

Senegal, who got independence from France in 1960 is one of Africa’s most stable democracies and has had three transfers of power.
