Victor Osimhen wins French Ligue 1 African Player of the Year award

Lille Metropole forward, Victor Osimhen has been named the winner of the 2020 Marc-Vivien Foe prize for the African Player of the Year in the French League.

He came out tops for the award in a list that comprised of Simon Moses (Nantes), Denis Bouanga (St. Etienne), Andy Delort (Montpellier), Islam Slimani (Monaco), plus the trio of Mbaye Niang, Hamari Traore and Edouard Mendy who play for Rennes.

Victor Osimhen joined the French first division side, Lille from Belgian club, Sporting Charleroi and was the direct replacement for Nicolas Pepe who joined English football powerhouse, Arsenal.

He’s second Nigerian after legendary Nigerian goalkeeper, Vincent Enyeama (2014 winner) to win the award.
