ECOWAS elect Nana Akufo-Addo as its new chairman

The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) has elected President Nana Akufo-Addo has its new chairman.

He was supported by West African nations at the 57th ECOWAS Summit that took place in Niamey, Niger Republic. The Ghanaian President took over from the President of Niger Republic, Mahamadou Issoufou.

President Nana Akufo-Addo ‘s tenure will be saddled with finding solutions with issues bothering on: ECOWAS single currency project, ECOWAS Vision 2050, finding a lasting solution to the issue of terrorism and armed banditry in the region.
