Nigeria loses to England on penalties at the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023

Nigeria lost to England on penalties after a pulsating regulation and extra time. The Super Falcons dominated most part of the encounter. The Lioness won 4 – 2 on penalties to advance to the next round of the competition.

After weathering the early West African storm, the European champions began to claw their way back into the game – but they couldn’t get past Chiamaka Nnadozie, who saved from Alessia Russo and then from Rachel Daly at point-blank range.

Chloe Kelly fired home the winner in Brisbane after Desire Oparanozie and Michelle Alozie missed for the Super Falcons and Bayern Munich’s Stanway missed for England.
