Ademola Lookman wins 2024 African Player of the Year Award

Ademola Lookman is the CAF African Player of the Year for 2024. Following his compatriot Victor Osimhen, the 27-year-old Atalanta forward becomes the seventh Nigerian player to win this coveted honour.

Ademola Lookman arrived in style at the Palais des Congrès in Marrakech, Morocco, on Monday, the destination for the 2024 CAF Awards.

Among the leading candidates for the coveted Men’s Player of the Year title, the Nigerian international faced Simon Adingra, Ronwen Williams, Achraf Hakimi, and Serhou Guirassy.

Lookman’s mother and father were among the family members who accompanied him to the occasion. He was wearing a chic green agbada.

Lookman scored 22 goals throughout his amazing season, including a hat-trick in the Europa League final that gave Atalanta their first-ever continental championship. Additionally, he was instrumental in Nigeria’s run to the AFCON championship silver-medal winning side at the tourney.

His impressive form has continued into the current season, with eight league goals propelling Atalanta to the top of Serie A. This award is a well-deserved recognition of Lookman’s outstanding achievements.
