Liverpool African players dominate in season opener

Egyptian, Mo Salah and Senegalese, Sadio Mane had an auspicious start as the duo netted three goals in Liverpool’s 4 – 0 over West Ham in the season’s opener. The Anfield-based club dominated proceedings throughout the match and Mo’ Salah opened the season’s account picking up from where he stopped last season. Sadio Mane scored the second and third goal while Daniel Sturridge compounded West Ham’s woes by scoring the last goal.

Worthy of note: Liverpool’s new signing from RB Leipzig, Naby Keita justified his US$63.84 million transfer fee. The Guinean was instrumental in the build-up towards Mo Salah’s goal.
