Ethiopia has overtaken Dubai as a destination, layover and transfer hub for long-destination travels. Through a combination of strategic investments, proper service delivery, key partnerships and airline acquisitions, Ethiopian Airlines has become the doyen of air travel on the African continent.
The East African nation has spread its tentacles by vivifying the defunct Zambian Airlines, established travel hubs in Togo and Mali, formed partnerships with airlines in Chad and Mozambique, and most importantly, embarked on major political reforms that have seen it made peace with Eritrea and Somalia.
