Nigeria: Over 100 school children trapped as Lagos building collapses

Many school children are feared dead while others have been trapped as a building housing the school collapsed on Wednesday in Lagos, Nigeria’s commercial capital.

The school is housed within a three-storeyed building and emergency workers are on the scene. Ibrahim Farinloye, Spokesman for the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) said in a statement that there’s no official figures yet to the number of casualties.

Nigeria has a history of building collapses due to weak enforcement of regulations and poor construction materials often used.
