Muhammadu Buhari places travel ban on 50 high-profile Nigerians

President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari has placed travelling restrictions on 50 high-profile Nigerians. The names and identities of the individuals affected were not disclosed but worthy of note are some common denominators – those whose assets valued at 50 million Naira and above, are subject to corruption investigation and litigation.

In a statement issued by presidential spokesperson, Garba Shehu, he buttressed that this directive is part of the measure put in place to ensure “that all assets within a minimum value of N50 million or equivalent, subject to investigation or litigation are protected from dissipation by employing all available lawful means, pending the final determination of any corruption-related matter.”
