Kenya extends COVID-19 curfew for one month

East African powerhouse, Kenya has extended the pandemic-fueled curfew for another month. The curfew in Kenyan started on the 25th of March, 2020

Uhuru Kenyatta said in a national broadcast on Wednesday that “Our health experts have indicated that levels of positivity rate country-wide have fallen from a high of 13% in June to 8% in August 2020.”

He also added: “This crisis has however began to percolate to the counties. The new frontier of this invisible enemy is increasingly shifting to the counties and to our rural areas.”

At the time of the broadcast, Kenya had recorded 33,016 COVID-19 cases and 564 deaths.

Nightclubs and Bars are to remain closed for another one month, while the number of people allowed to attend funeral, weddings and other social events has been increased.
